Our Self-Help Groups need start-up funds for their livelihood projects. Here are some examples of their income generation ideas:
- Farming, requiring the purchase of crop seeds, tools and equipment, and the set-up of irrigation systems and bore holes;
- Rearing livestock (poultry, goats and dairy cows), requiring the purchase of livestock, equipment and housing;
- Hiring out equipment for community events, requiring the purchase of tents, chairs and cooking equipment;
- Market stalls (for selling produce and renting out), requiring the purchase of land and building materials.
The cost of these projects ranges from a few hundred to a few thousand British pounds. Donations of any amount are gratefully received and will be put to work in one of the Self-Help Group livelihood projects.
